2021 Ram 1500 Towing Specs & Reverse Steering Control
Trailer Steering Knob
The available Trailer Reverse Steering Control (TRSC) is an advanced towing feature that will allow ease of control when maneuvering the direction of a trailer while reversing. This system uses a trailer steering knob located in the center rack enabling you to turn the knob in the direction you need the trailer to go. The driver does not have to use the steering wheel. Instead, the system takes control and does the reversing for you. The process can be viewed on your LCD video monitor to track the position of the trailer.
Along with the trailer reverse steering control function, the 2021 Ram 1500 will add more available towing features to its trailer package. Power folding trailering mirrors come as a stand-alone option or with the 360-degree surround-view camera system and trailer camera prep. Trailer tire pressuring monitor is a useful towing function for measuring tire air pressure and signalling drivers when the pressure is low. Trailer light check and brake control will also be included in the package.
Towing & Payload
The Rams high-strength steel frame gives it the durability to transport the heaviest of loads. If you are curious to know the Ram 1500 Hemi vs Ram 1500 EcoDiesel towing capability, Hemi V-8 has the best-in-class. It dominates with a maximum towing capacity of 5,783 kg and payload of 1,043 kg. The EcoDiesel is not far behind, with a towing capacity of 5,697 kg and 934 kg of payload. The Ram 1500 towing specs exceed the majority making it one of the best work trucks around.
Interior & Cargo
The stiff and strong exterior of the Ram gives heavy-duty protection to its high-grade interior. Genuine leather seats and real wood accents give the inside of the Ram a luxurious feel. It provides the ideal comfort level with an available class-exclusive recliner rear seat and heated and ventilated seats. The Ram is spacious, with easily accessible storage on both the floor and center console. Crew cabs have six-foot-four-inch and five-foot-seven-inch cargo beds, whereas the extended quad cab only has the six-foot-four-inch-bed. The beds are equipped with cargo lights, a tailgate step and RamBox storage bins. The 60/40 split multifunction tailgate can swing down or open outward to the sides to easily load and unload your items.
